Hello!

My name is Tom Attwater, and I’m a filmmaker based in Missoula, MT. For years, I’ve been following the journey of Amanda Christiansen—an incredible woman whose story of resilience, adventure, and motherhood has left a lasting impact on me.

Amanda was diagnosed with Stargardt’s disease, a rare genetic condition that causes progressive vision loss. But instead of letting it define her, she has continued to push her limits—running trails, rafting rivers, and embracing life in Montana’s wild landscapes. Now, as a mother, she is experiencing a new chapter, determined to share the beauty of the outdoors with her son before her vision fades entirely.

"A Rare Glimpse" is an intimate short film that offers a unique look into Amanda’s world—both the way she sees it and the way she feels it. Through stunning cinematography and immersive storytelling, we hope to inspire audiences and spark conversations about resilience, disability, and our connection to nature.
